Folded palms in infinite gratitude to the Creator
Been granted a life meaningfully human
Could’ve cast me as a hungry predator
A stone, tree, metal or even demon
Blessed with eyes, ears, nose, tongue & touch
Sensory perceptions of illusory comprehension
Most important than all, the human mind
Fickle thoughts to bind, let loose & unwind
Divide & differentiate they do to Reality
Distancing two eyes to extremes of duality
Attachments & Aversions are perpetual cravings
Worldly endurance, always a sea of suffering
Pride, jealousy, desire, ignorance, greed, anger
Emotions hauling from joy to utter surrender
Tumultuous trials & tribulations of existence
Awareness fortuitously overtakes intelligence
Starkly stares in the face, a sole, unforced duty
Can I forsake this opportunity to perpetuity?
Hang in & go on decorating stature
Or make all efforts to realize my true nature
Facing trial in the courtroom of cardinal justice
Can I hide behind excuses for procrastination?
Failed in both action & meditation
The Creator could well rule me back into trepidation
Is the supreme challenge worth the try?
Will another opportunity come by?
Or is it the plenary gift of this life?
That may never again require me to survive?
